Riverhead Raceway to Support Cahill’s Red Scooter Run

Holtsville NY— 4/25/2020 JB Fortin Racing is proud to announce the addition of Riverhead Raceway to the list of companies that are supporting Cahill’s Red Scooter Run for the event planned to run on the iRacing service on May 3rd, to benefit the family of Ed Cahill who lost his life to the Covid-19 virus.

The event will be twin 29 lap races around the virtual New Smyrna speedway with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour series race cars.  The iRacing racing simulation service will be used for this event.

Ed was a fixture at the Riverhead for many years, early on powering his number 29 modified around the tight Long Island oval.  After hanging up his helmet Ed remained very active at Riverhead helping many young drivers and teams eventually moving up to the Modified Tour with JB Fortin Racing.

Event organizer JB Fortin said about the news, “We are completely in awe as to the response to this event, it is really a testament to the kind of man Ed was.  He was a family man very dedicated to his wife and children and we are happy to be able to provide this support to his family in this difficult time.”

iRacing drivers who are interested in joining the event can purchase an entry through the JB Fortin Racing Website Store (www.JBFortin.com) or by searching for the event on Facebook.  If you are interested in contributing to the event please contact Shawn Weaver at SWeaver@weevnet.com.
